Our Approach

At Bright Harbor Counseling, we believe therapy is a collaborative process grounded in understanding, trust, and meaningful growth. Our approach is integrative, drawing from several evidence-based and client-centered modalities to create care that reflects your unique experiences, needs, and goals.

Mental health doesn't exist in a vacuum. We consider your relationships, your body, your environment, and your cultural context as part of who you are. We blend insight-oriented conversation with concrete strategies for real life.

Driven by a commitment to evidence-based practice and empathetic care, the vision for Bright Harbor was born out of a desire to integrate professional expertise with a deeply personal understanding of the therapeutic journey. We incorporate:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Person-Centered & Humanistic Therapy

  • Mindfulness-Based Approaches

  • Strengths-Based Therapy

  • Trauma-Informed Care

We recognize that meaningful therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll determine which approaches best support your goals, adapting our work as your needs and circumstances evolve. Whether you’re navigating a difficult transition, seeking greater fulfillment, or hoping to better understand yourself, our goal is to help you gain clarity, reconnect with what matters, and move forward with intention.

Meet the Founder

My career in mental health has spanned a variety of settings, including schools, inpatient and outpatient care, and in-home services. These experiences shaped my approach to therapy and reinforced the importance of meeting each person where they are.

After several years as a therapist, I stepped away from clinical practice to work in corporate Human Resources and Learning & Development. In that role, I supported professionals and leaders through workplace challenges, career transitions, personal growth, and the pressures of high-performance environments. This experience broadened my perspective on how work, relationships, identity, and personal fulfillment intersect.

My decision to return to clinical therapy was shaped by both my professional experience and my own lived experiences. I know firsthand that finding clarity, navigating change, and building a life that feels authentic can be challenging. Those experiences have strengthened my belief in the value of having a thoughtful, supportive person alongside you as you work toward meaningful change.

I created Bright Harbor Counseling to return to what I have always found most meaningful: building genuine therapeutic relationships and supporting people as they work toward more fulfilling lives. My approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and collaboration, with care tailored to each person’s unique experiences, values, and goals.

I'm glad you're here, and I look forward to being part of your journey.

Our Philosophy

At Bright Harbor Counseling, we believe therapy should feel like a safe anchorage amid the changing tides of life. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that every individual possesses an innate capacity for resilience and growth. We provide a steady, professional presence—a harbor where you can gain perspective, navigate inward challenges, and prepare to venture back out with a clearer sense of direction and renewed strength.

We'll never push you toward topics you're not ready for. Progress happens when you feel safe enough to go there — and building that safety is always our first priority.

Your identity is not a problem to be solved. Whether you're exploring gender, sexuality, or cultural identity, we approach that exploration as a gift, not a complication.

Talking through the past matters — but we also want to give you tools you can use today. We blend insight-oriented conversation with concrete strategies for real life.

We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Every person who walks through our (virtual) door brings a unique history, a unique set of needs, and a unique definition of what healing looks like for them.
